Food support can follow children home for summer: California sent $120 grocery cards for 3.8 million children
Reported by CalMatters
Publisher date:

California automatically mailed SUN Bucks cards loaded with $120 per eligible child to families of 3.8 million children this summer, helping pay for food when school is out. According to CalMatters’ October 5 report, nearly $106 million remained unspent, with families who already received cards still able to use unexpired benefits.
Summer grocery assistance gives families a way to keep feeding children beyond school meals, but using the remaining funds before they expire is essential to turning that support into food.
