Hospital surplus could become help, not waste: a 16-year-old’s project rescued an estimated $250,000 in medical supplies
Reported by Reasons to be Cheerful
Publisher date:

Project MedBridge, founded by Ohio high school student Ben Kurian, arranged the collection of roughly 30,000 pounds of sealed, unexpired medical supplies from an OhioHealth facility in Columbus. The N95 masks and hot-and-cold packs headed toward Pittsburgh for onward shipment to an under-resourced clinic overseas, rather than eventual disposal.
Young people can help connect usable hospital surplus with clinics that need it, keeping valuable resources from going to waste.
