Care Could Be Easier to Reach in the North: N.W.T. Funding Targets Access and Health Projects in 12 Communities
Reported by CBC North
Publisher date:

The Northwest Territories is set to benefit from over $144.8 million in government funding intended to improve health-care access and infrastructure. The commitments cover physician training and recruitment, better-connected primary care, mental wellness services and 16 infrastructure projects across 12 communities; improvements in care have not yet been demonstrated.
The funding gives northern communities a concrete path toward more accessible care, though its value will depend on what is delivered.
