Imagine making fuel and spare fresh water together: a Chinese plant does both with seawater, reusing its own waste heat
Reported by VnExpress International
Publisher date:

Chinese scientists have built a 250-kilowatt plant that produces hydrogen and fresh water from seawater, reusing waste heat to raise electrical efficiency by 14.4%. It ran through 40 days of daily start-stop cycles with no obvious decline, offering evidence for a more efficient approach rather than proof of commercial-scale viability.
Making hydrogen while producing surplus fresh water could help meet energy and water needs together, with this plant demonstrating a way to put otherwise discarded heat to work.
