Broader cervical cancer protection within easier reach: Singapore will subsidise HPV9 vaccination from 2027
Reported by The Straits Times
Publisher date:
Eligible women in Singapore will have subsidised access to HPV9 from Jan 1, 2027, while Secondary 1 and 2 girls will receive it through school vaccination programmes. The vaccine covers HPV types responsible for up to 90% of cervical cancers, broadening the protection available with financial support.
Reducing financial barriers to broader HPV protection could help more women guard against cervical cancer, although the policy’s effects on uptake and health outcomes are not yet known.
