A voice can outlast captivity: Andriy Petruk’s poems, scratched onto a prison uniform with a chicken bone, are now a book
Reported by mezha.net
Publisher date:

Mariupol defender Andriy Petruk has published “Satan’s Sanatorium,” a collection of around 40 works, after nearly four years in Russian captivity. Volunteers raised the money needed within days, helping bring words he wrote and memorized in prison to readers.
Petruk’s published poems show how creative expression can survive extreme confinement—and how others can help that voice reach the world.
