A forest can become a home again: on land a couple helped restore in Costa Rica, a puma has raised her cubs

Publisher date:

Genevieve and Ian Giddy began restoring former farmland beside Costa Rica’s Chirripó National Park in 2002, starting a project that now spans 283 hectares and has grown around 50,000 native trees. Wildlife has returned as the habitat has recovered, with reserve records identifying 305 bird species and researchers confirming the presence of all six wild cat species found in Costa Rica.
Cloudbridge offers concrete evidence that sustained, locally adapted restoration can help damaged land support wildlife again, even while full forest recovery remains unfinished.
