A cleaner river is something neighbours can build together: volunteers removed 867kg of rubbish from the Lavant
Reported by theargus.co.uk
Publisher date:

Volunteers cleared 867kg of litter from the River Lavant, hauling out hundreds of bottles and cans, three shopping trolleys and a garden sofa. The clean-up shows how collective effort can reduce the rubbish burden on a shared waterway, even as wider pollution problems still need attention.
People working together have made a tangible difference to their river without waiting for every threat to it to be resolved.
